Our online learning service is designed by Linda Bellos OBE and Caroline Jones,
both recognised experts in equality and human rights practice. They write each
course, tailoring them to specific requirements. Client data security is paramount and
our learning website has high level security protection.
Our online courses teach managers and staff how to apply the Equality Act 2010 in
practical ways across different workplace and service delivery situations.
Since its launch in 2005, tens of thousands of employees in all business sectors
have completed one of our courses. Anyone with an Internet connection can log on
to a course at any time. This flexibility is great benefit for everyone including busy
managers, home-based staff and shift workers.
Blended learning
Our online courses are often used as the first module in blended learning
programmes. This approach makes sure that everyone has a shared knowledge and
understanding of equality law before moving on to the more specialist courses we
provide in topics such as:
- managing diversity
- equal opportunities recruitment and selection
- equality impact assessments
What learners get
Each course is illustrated with examples that help managers and staff to understand
their responsibility for applying equality law in different situations. Multiple choice
questions test knowledge and reinforce learning. Learners get a score, course
certificate, course summary and explanations to wrong answers. They can also
retake their course to increase their score.
Measuring results
Clients get access to on-demand report data that tracks learner uptake and
progress, attainment levels and further learning needs. The data helps to provide
evidence of good equality practice, especially useful to companies bidding for
contracts offered by the public sector and other businesses. It also supports public
bodies to provide evidence of equality outcomes.
